A Foregone Conclusion Plays Out



She pushed the paper across the table and bit her lip. Then she got up, walked to the other side, and sat down.

“What is this?” she asked and began to read. When she was done, she took her glasses off and switched sides.

“It’s just a first draft,” she said, too fast. “If it isn’t in the right direction, I can change it.”

She pushed back the chair, stepped around, and put her glasses on to let out a “Hmm….”

Almost falling back into the chair on the other side, she said,

“I know. I’ll give it another shot!”
