I can’t believe I just did that, Amaris thought, while still on hold with the cable company. It had been a reflex, a simple mistake; it could have happened to anyone, or could it?

What if I, deep down, meant to take Medusa’s medication, she thought. No, I couldn’t have. Besides, Medusa only weighed eight lbs; there must be a limit to how many of her muscles the muscle relaxer would relax. Geez, she was babbling.
