Donna Has a Great Day

It was not even lunchtime, and this one looked to be a good one. A soccer mom, Karen or Cindy, leading her acne-prone, bratty teenager around from window to window to get his learner’s permit.

“Ma’am,” Donna said. “Are you taking a test?”

“No, no,” said Karen-Cindy, “I’m just waiting for my son over there.”

She pointed to Acne-Zack, picking his nose while staring at the screen in a booth.

“Well, you’ll have to wait outside,” said Donna.

“Oh, okay,” said Karen-Cindy, and scuttled away with a limp wave at Acne-Zack’s back.

Wow, that felt wonderful, Donna thought.
