Linda liked her job at the veterinarian’s clinic. Most of the patients were nice and courteous. Their owners, though, could be a handful. Cat-ladies who demanded to sing their kitties to sleep over the phone. Snake owners whose pets only ate organically raised mice. Dog lovers who insisted their pooches knew words like enema and nail clippers. Lately, many people had called to ask what side-effects horse dewormers have on humans. And today, there had been a woman who had told Linda the monkey had given her purple cable with sprinkles, vector napkin rings, and goat balloons. Good to know!
