The mojo is a small creature of Creole origin. It lives on trust, courage, and confidence backed by skill, the very traits the mojo is believed to imbue its host with. The mojo cannot be bought, captured, or tamed. It chooses a host of its own volition based on criteria unknown to science. Empirical studies seem to indicate that arrogance, entitlement, and complacency can cause the mojo to leave a host. Once lost, it can be challenging to get back, though a fundamental life change towards gratitude spurred by rude awakenings has proven somewhat successful.
