“Aren’t you the groom from the wedding?” says the bartender at the hotel bar. It’s 11:30 PM, and the bride has long since left for the honeymoon with her entourage of photographers, stylists, veil, flower, and clipboard-with-lists holders, maid of honor, bridesmaids, and distant cousins her mother has demanded she includes.
“Yes,” says the guy nursing a scotch in his black-tie attire, now sans tie and with the collar unbuttoned. “I can’t pinpoint exactly when, but I wasn’t allowed to be in the pictures or sit at the table, and then I got lost and missed the motorcade.”
