The End II

It wasn’t until months later he realized they had ended. It was she who suggested they took a break, and he thought that if he just gave her the space she asked for, she would return to them faster, that it was a temporary thing for them to figure out how to work it out together. But then he saw that someone else now lived in her apartment, a young couple expecting their first child. And their usual table in the corner of the coffee shop had been taken by a book club reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.
