The Paradox of Waiting for Things to Not Happen

While practicing her morning tai chi Evelyn the sloth came upon the paradox of waiting for things to not happen. Among the things Evelyn wished to not happen were hurricanes, hangnails, and pirate-themed holiday parties. Wearing an eye-patch was not optimal with her bifocals. The conundrum existed both in the infinite time-frame of the waiting and in the all-consuming attention put to something unwanted. As is often the case, the solution snuck in when Evelyn focused her energy on everything that was not the problem. Gratitude for lacking a peg leg in a slight breeze with French tips won again.
